The WHO estimates that around 10.7 million women worldwide die due to childbirth, with 25–50% of these deaths attributed to health issues, labor, and postpartum complications (Aisyaroh, Noveri. 2022). Almost 95% of all maternal deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries in 2020, and most of these deaths are preventable (WHO. 2020).
One of the successes during the postpartum period is the prevention of maternal deaths (Aisyaroh, Noveri. 2022). The purpose of this case study is to provide postpartum midwifery care in accordance with established standards and to educate mothers about warning signs during the postpartum period, as well as what to avoid. The method used is descriptive, following the SOAP management principles in midwifery care, with the author providing care to Mrs. P from May 29, 2024, to July 12, 2024, at PMB Noor Sehah, A. Md. Keb. The author conducted observations of the postpartum mother's condition according to midwifery standards and authority.
The results indicate that Mrs. P, aged 20, P1A0, is in the postpartum period from KF 1 to KF 4, with a physiological state. There were issues in KF 1, where the mother experienced pain and cramps in the abdominal area; in KF 2, she was hesitant to bathe her baby independently; and in KF 4, an evaluation of the care provided showed that the issues could be effectively resolved. The evaluation results from the health promotion activities indicated that the mother was able to correctly identify 4 out of 6 warning signs during the postpartum period and 5 out of 5 things to avoid that had been explained.
