According to research by the World Health Organization (WHO), almost all maternal deaths (99%) occur in developing countries, more than half of these deaths occur in Sub-Saharan Africa and almost all of them occur in South Asia. The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in developing countries in 2015 was 239 per 100,000 live births and 12 per 100,000 live births in developed countries (World Health Organization, 2020). Infant deaths are mostly caused by low birth weight (LBW) or prematurity and asphyxia. Babies weighing less than 2,500 grams or premature babies are more vulnerable and more susceptible to illness and also cause death (Kementrian Kesehatan RI, 2022). The Infant Mortality Rate in South Kalimantan Province in the last five years has tended to increase in 2022 by 10 and in 2023 by 11.7. The AKB in question is the Infant Mortality Rate excluding neonatal deaths (Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Kalsel, 2023). The method used in this report is a descriptive method with SOAP midwifery care management, the author observed the baby's condition and conducted neonatal visits. This midwifery care was carried out on May 28 - June 22, 2024. The care provided was newborn care for Mrs. S. From the case study of Mrs. S's baby with physiological conditions, it can be concluded that the management of midwifery planning was carried out in accordance with SOAP standards.
