Midwifery Care for Postpartum Mothers with Physiology Using Boiled Betel Leaf Water at PMB Hj. Halimatus Sa’diyah Amd. Keb Kota Banjarmasin

According to WHO data, MMR is very high, around 295,000 women die after giving birth or during the postpartum period (WHO, 2020). In 2023, the MMR of South Kalimantan Province reached 145 per 100,000 live births. This figure increased from 2022 reaching 136 per 100,000 live births. The direct cause of maternal death is due to complications during pregnancy or childbirth and indirect causes are due to pre-existing diseases or diseases acquired during pregnancy and affecting pregnancy or childbirth. This case study method uses a descriptive study with SOAP midwifery care management, the author conducted observations of the condition of the postpartum mother and conducted postpartum visits with the results of the assessment P1A0 Postpartum 6 hours, TFU 2 fingers below the navel, Lochea rubra, there was a second degree laceration, the mother did not know how to care for perineal wounds, so the author provided counseling on boiled betel leaf water for personal hygiene. The study was conducted from May 28 to June 2024. Providing standard postpartum midwifery care and providing education on how to care for perineal wounds using boiled betel leaf water. During the KF 3 visit, it was found that the wound was drying and there was no infection, meaning that boiled betel leaf water was effective for wound healing. Mrs. S's postpartum midwifery care has been carried out according to standards and documented with SOAP.
